Latest Update - March 17th, 2021: Applications to the 2021-22 Buy BC Partnership Program (cost-shared funding component) are now open until April 7th, 2021 at 4:30pm PST.
Latest Update - February 9th, 2021: Applicants can apply to the Canada Healthy Communities Initiative for funding ranging from $5,000 to $250,000 for eligible projects. Applications for this period will close on March 9th, 2021.
Key Government Programs
Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA)
Interest-free loans of up to $60,000 to eligible businesses.
Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy (CERS)
The Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy (CERS) provides easy-to-access rent and mortgage support until June 2021 for qualifying organizations affected by COVID-19.
Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS)
The Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy Program (CEWS) program helps employers retain and pay employees.
Other Programs and Resources
Sectoral Initiatives Program
This funding supports projects that focus on one or more of the following objectives:
- Develop and implement sector-based solutions to address the workforce challenges and needs of Canadian workers and employers
- Address specific workforce needs in support of economic recovery for a specific sector or across sectors
Eligible organizations can apply for up to $2,500,000 (per project, per year). Eligible projects must be a maximum of 36 months.
Canada Healthy Communities Initiative
Applicants can apply for funding ranging from $5,000 to $250,000 for eligible projects under three main themes:
- Creating safe and vibrant public spaces
- Improving mobility options
- Digital solutions
Local governments and a variety of community-led organizations are eligible to apply, including charities, Indigenous communities, and registered non-profit organizations.
The application period for the first round of funding opened on February 9th, 2021 and will close on March 9th, 2021.

Community Social Services Training Fund
The Community Social Services Training Fund from the Federation of Community Social Services of BC supports broad and inclusive training and development efforts that address foundational knowledge and core skill needs—including leadership and management—throughout the community social services sector.
Community Action Initiative
If you run mental health programs, the Community Action Initiative supports community-based projects with a specific focus on addressing mental health and substance use challenges in BC.
Canada United Small Business Relief Fund
The Canada United Small Business Relief Fund provides relief grants of up to $5,000 to small businesses. The grant can be used for specific COVID-19 recovery efforts: purchasing PPE, renovating physical spaces, or developing your website or e-commerce capabilities.
Launch Online Grant Program
The Launch Online Grant program funds eligible expenses for launching or upgrading an online store up to a maximum of $7,500 per business. Some non-profits are eligible to apply so long as they have tangible products that they sell and are wanting to move to an online platform. The program is based on a first come, first-served basis, until all funds are distributed.
