With everything that's going on, it can be hard to keep track of important deadlines when it comes to the various government supports and programs.
The following are major government and other support programs with important deadlines and dates to add to your calendar:
This program will provide grants to B.C. businesses that employ between 2 and 149 B.C. residents and that have been hard-hit by COVID-19 until August 31st, 2021 or until funds are fully deployed. APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED.
The Government of Canada extended the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy program until September 25th, 2021.
Businesses, charities, and non-profits can apply to receive a subsidy of up to 65% of eligible rent and mortgage expenses, plus top-up lockdown support, until September 25th, 2021.
A new benefit to support the self-employed and those working in the gig economy. The final eligibility period is September 12th, 2021 to September 25th, 2021 (Period 26).
A new benefit to help people who can't work because they are sick or must self-isolate due to COVID-19. The final eligibility period is September 19th, 2021 to September 25th, 2021 (Period 52).
A new benefit that provides income support if you must stop work to care for dependants. The final eligibility period is September 19th, 2021 to September 25th, 2021 (Period 52).
This grant will pay for up to 75% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of $7,500 per business, with 30% of grant funds reserved for Black, Indigenous, and people of colour-owned (BIPOC) businesses. Applications are open until September 30th, 2021 (or until all the funds are distributed). APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED.
Work-Sharing Program temporary special measures to support employers and workers affected by COVID-19. Open until September 26th, 2021.
The B.C. increased employment incentive is a one-time refundable tax credit for employers. The deadline to apply is December 31st, 2021.
Low-interest loans of $25,000 to $1 million for eligible businesses. Applications close December 31st, 2021.
The Business Credit Availability Program (BCAP), which helps businesses access additional credit to maintain operations and keep employees on the payroll, will run until December 31st, 2021.
Once individuals who received COVID-related income support benefits have filed their 2020 income tax and benefit return, they will not be required to pay interest on any outstanding income tax debt for the 2020 tax year until April 30th, 2022.
CEBA provides interest-free loans of up to $60,000, with up to $20,000 forgivable if repaid before December 31st, 2022.
The RRRF provides interest-free loans of up to $40,000 to eligible businesses, with no scheduled monthly repayments required until after December 31st, 2022.
