As we move through the four phases of B.C.’s Restart Plan and businesses start to reopen and operate, non-medical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will play a key role in helping keep us all safe.
What is PPE?
PPE can help reduce the risk of transmitting COVID-19 in these situations
- When someone with the virus coughs or sneezes near another person
- When someone touches an infected person or a contaminated surface and then touches their eyes, mouth, or nose
Types of PPE include medical and non-medical face masks, gloves, gowns and aprons, and face shields and eyeglasses. The most common type of PPE outside healthcare settings is face masks.
Read PPE and Your COVID-19 Safety Plan to learn more about PPE and whether or not your business should use it.
